I am a New Zealand-based landscape photographer with a background in biology and a long-standing passion for the natural world. My work is driven by a desire to capture not just the appearance of a place, but the atmosphere and emotional resonance it holds. I focus on the "where" rather than simply the "what" — conveying a sense of presence, mood, and the quiet details that define a landscape.
Originally from Mexico, I began using photography as a way to share my experiences in New Zealand with family and friends back home. I often found it difficult to describe what New Zealand felt like — its light, its stillness, its scale — so photography became a visual language to bridge that gap. Over time, it also became a way to share glimpses of Mexico with my New Zealand friends, seen through the eyes of a “local“.
Most of my work is rooted in Aotearoa’s natural settings: coastlines, bush, mountains, and everyday paths that hold quiet beauty. Through my images, I aim to offer a sense of what it’s like to stand at the top of a mountain, in front of a colourful sunrise or the imminent approach of rain — not just what they look like, but how it feels..
